Hollister party crasher reportedly punches people with brass knuckles

An unwelcome party crasher was arrested in Hollister after allegedly punching several people with brass knuckles.

The Hollister Police Department responded to a fight in the 200 block of Sundance Drive around 9:40 p.m. on July 21. When officers arrived they found nearly a hundred teens and young adults in the street.

Witnesses pointed out an armed suspect, 20-year-old Wyatt Dennin, who had reportedly taken swings at people with brass knuckles.

“Upon being confronted by officers, Dennin discarded the knuckles, but was not compliant with officer’s commands,” said Sgt. D. Pershall.

HPD arrested Dennin and said a hostile crowd formed around their officers. With the help of additional officers, the crowd dispersed.

According to Hollister PD, the owners of the home were out of town due to a family death. Their kids, texted a few friends for a pool party and the word got out on social media.

People from Monterey, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and Hollister showed up.

Dennin suffered a broken jaw during the fight. He was taken to San Jose Regional for emergency surgery to his face.

No gun was found, but a cell phone video showed a person with Dennin brandishing a gun.

Dennin was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of brass knuckles and obstruction of an officer.

The Hollister Police Department would like to ask if anyone that was at the party, or knows of someone at the party that may have additional video of the suspect with the gun, to please contact the Hollister Police Department.
