UPDATE: AWOL Fort Hunter Liggett soldier found

UPDATE 7/24/18 6:42 p.m.: A Fort Hunter Liggett soldier gone AWOL has been found in Redwood City.

According to the CHP, the soldier was detained Tuesday night with the military vehicle. Officers are now waiting for military police to pick the soldier up.

According to Fort Hunter Liggett, the solder was participating in the Combat Support Training Exercise at 10 a.m. Tuesday when he was reported absent without leave.

The solder left with a Humvee and weapon.

He was found in San Mateo County.

Fort Hunter Liggett officials say he will stay in military custody while an investigation is completed.

A soldier from Fort Hunter Liggett has gone AWOL in a military vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol told KION 34-year-old Spencer Slick was training on the Central Coast and was demoted Tuesday.

CHP officials say Slick has since gone AWOL and its believed he may be driving a Humvee to the Bay Area.

A B.O.L (Be on the Lookout) was issued to all California Highway Patrol stations, according to CHP.

Officials with Fort Hunter Liggett said the incident is under investigation.
