Body found near San Lorenzo River Levee
A body was found near the San Lorenzo River Levee in Santa Cruz Thursday morning.
Officers with the Santa Cruz Police Department arrived around 10:40 a.m. and found a dead man along the west levee shoreline.
Santa Cruz Fire pulled the body out of the water. It was taken to the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
According to SCPD, the body is that of a 70-year-old man believed to be a transient.
“At this time the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious, and there is no apparent danger to the public,” said SCPD spokeswoman, Joyce Blaschke.
