Brush fire burns structures in Morgan Hill

CBS SF– A vegetation fire in the area of Hale and Miramonte avenues near Morgan Hill in unincorporated Santa Clara County has grown to about 50 acres Tuesday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was first reported shortly before 2 p.m. Cal Fire spokeswoman Pam Temmermand said the fire was at 40 acres as of 4:10 p.m. and two outbuildings, sheds or barns, have been burned.

Firefighters have stopped the fire’s forward progress but it still poses a threat to structures. As of late Tuesday afternoon, containment was at 30 percent containment, according to Cal Fire.

No injuries have been reported and about 75 firefighters are responding to the blaze, Temmermand said.

San Jose firefighters were providing mutual aid.
