Hollister Police arrest fugitive wanted for rape and sexual assault

Hollister Police arrested a man wanted for rape, rape of a child and other sexual assault charges in the State of Oregon.

On July 4th just before noon, he was seen parked in a handicapped space at Vista Park Hill. There were three people who appeared to be sleeping in the car without a placard.

When officers tried to talk to the driver, he did not want to cooperate. He said he did not have a local address.

Officers did a search and identified the driver as 29-year-old Shaun Heflin from Colorado.

A warrant check showed that Heflin was a fugitive in Oregon wanted on rape and sexual assault related charges.

The State of Oregon said they would extradite Heflin if he was arrested in another state.

He was arrested by Hollister Police and taken to the San Benito County Jail.
