Power outage impacts thousands on Monterey Peninsula

Thousands of people are without power on the Monterey Peninsula.

According to Pacific Gas and Electric, 5,525 PG&E customers were affected by a power outage between Del Monte Forest, Pacific Grove and Monterey.

The outage occurred around 11:17 a.m. Monday, and is expected to be restored by 2:30 p.m.

PG&E is investigating the cause.
