Drunk man threatens beach goers with rifle & machete in Moss Landing
Beach-goers had quite the scare after a drunk man threatened them with a rifle and a machete at a beach in Moss Landing, Sunday.
According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, Daniel Marland was very drunk and waving a rifle at people on the beach and yelling for them to “come at him.”
“The citizens were afraid of Marland and his gun and called 911,” the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies along with the California Highway Patrol and State Parks responded to the scene.
Marland was arrested and taken to Monterey County Jail for threatening citizens, displaying a firearm in public, and several other charges.
