Cannabis delivery companies busted during sting operation in Hollister

Three cannabis delivery companies were busted during an undercover sting operation in Hollister.

The Hollister Police Department learned that some businesses were offering cannabis delivery services within city limits. State law allows for the delivery of marijuana products, but Hollister PD said there aren’t any businesses licensed to make personal deliveries in the city.

“Over the past few months, Hollister Police Officers have come across three (3) -separate delivery drivers making illegal transactions. Officer Chris Wells, whose primary job duty is focusing on cannabis compliance within the city, conducted follow up with each of these incidents,” said HPD.

On May 23, Hollister PD conducted an undercover sting operation and busted the three businesses.

Each of the three delivery drivers were given a $1,000 citation and released.

One of the drivers cited had previously been in trouble for the same violation.

The cases will be forwarded to the San Benito County DA’s Office for any additional criminal charges.

Hollister PD wants to remind the public that there is a way for companies to obtain their delivery licenses.

Cannabis dispensaries interested in obtaining their delivery license in Hollister are asked to contact our Cannabis Affairs Manager, Maria Mendez, at (831) 636-4360.
