Thousands head to Central Coast for Lightning in a Bottle Festival
Close to 20,000 people are expected to attended the Lightning in a Bottle Festival here on the Central Coast this weekend.
Thursday kicked off the first day of performances that go in early Monday morning. The event is in Bradley near San Antonio Recreation Area.
It took some attendees nearly 4 hours to get just 15 miles into the venue on Thursday, some took the time to start the party.
Others, like Adam Springer, from San Diego, “we slept in line for another 3 to 4 hours before we could get in here.”
People come from all over the World for the festival, “people from Sydney Australia camped with us three or four years ago,” says Craig.
One group also coming from South Florida, “”I really wanted to go last year, the timing didn’t work out so i get to check it out this year, I’m super excited,” says Brigget Nickerson.
Most festival goers also say they plan on spending a total of $1,500 for the weekend.
“Including gas and food probably one thousand 500 total with tickets and car pass and all the goodies we brought in,” says Erica Reyes.
Nickerson says she doesn’t want to think about how much she’s spending this weekend since the spending isn’t over, “outfit and plane ticket here, that’s probably, I haven’t added it up and I kind of don’t want to.”
While there will be dozens of musicians performing each night, some who have been there before say that’s not the only thing they’re looking forward to. “I’m excited for the yoga and a lot of the talks, I know Amy Goodman is going to be speaking, LIB is doing more political conversations, so that’s exciting and of course dancing so that will be fun.”
Tickets for the four day even are anywhere from $300-$350. The festival ends Monday morning.
