Police arrest Hollister man with 11 warrants

A Hollister man with 11 warrants was arrested after barricading himself inside his house.

According to Hollister Police, residents have been complaining about 42-year-old Francisco Zendejas for several years. Some even obtained restraining orders against him which prohibited him from being in his home in the 300 block of Paul Drive.

Zendejas was known to scream at neighbors, drive recklessly in the neighborhood and abuse the 9-1-1 system.

Zendejas had 11 warrants for his arrest and a lawsuit from the City of Hollister against him.

A San Benito County Superior Court Judge also issued an additional restraining order and fined his parents for allowing him at the property.

On Wednesday, May 23rd, Hollister Police said an officer was doing surveillance on Paul Drive hoping to spot Zendejas leaving so he could be arrested. That’s when Zendejas called 9-1-1 and the fire department was called to the scene to investigate a suspicious smell from his home.

Additional police units then responded after confirming Zendejas was inside the home. Hollister police officers later entered the home and found Zendejas hiding in a crawl space of a closet.

Zendejas was taken to the San Benito County Jail and is facing several charges.
