DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, also the incoming president of the next Conference of the Parties to be held in Egypt, says the focus will be on making sure countries implement their climate pledges. In an interview with The Associated Press, Shoukry also said he expected negotiations around compensation to developing countries for the impacts of climate change. He also said that protests, often a fixture of climate conferences, would be allowed during COP27.
