Blind pony abandoned in Salinas
The SPCA for Monterey County is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a person or persons who abandoned a pony in Salinas.
The pony was found loose in the 500 block of San Juan Grade Road on May 17.
The pony, a gray mare approximately 11 years old, is blind in one eye and suffering a variety of health issues related to long term neglect,” said SPCA Director of Community Outreach, Beth Brookhouser.

If caught, the owners could be charged with the following offenses: Permitting Animals to go Without Veterinary Care, Animal Cruelty, Deprivation of Food, Water, and Shelter, and Abandonment.
