Salinas Police investigating afternoon bank robbery

The Salinas Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened Friday afternoon.

At around 2:15, Officers were dispatched to a call about a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Monterey Credit Union in Harden Ranch Plaza.

Two males in baggy clothing with their faces covered, one brandishing a rifle, entered the Credit Union and ordered the employees and customers to the floor. They then ordered employees to enter the teller drawers, placed the money into a duffle bag and exited the bank.

They left the parking lot in an older model grey SUV that was parked directly in front of the business.
