Erratic student found hiding in San Benito High classroom

San Benito High School enacted it’s “School Safety Plan” after a student on campus was reportedly acting erratic and breaking windows.

The incident occurred at the Hollister campus around 12 p.m. Thursday.

According to Hollister Police, a school resource officer tried to approach the student but the student refused to cooperate and ran into the main campus area during lunch hour.

The campus was secured until the student could be located.

Campus security and the school resource officer found the student hiding inside a classroom.

“Medical aid was provided to the student for an injury the student sustained during the incident,” said Hollister Police.

The school resumed its normal schedule around 12:43 p.m.

Police did not say if the student was taken into custody.
