Thousands of dollars worth of donations stolen from Santa Cruz Benefit Shop

Thousands of dollars worth of donations were stolen from a shop in Santa Cruz County over the weekend.

Thieves broke into the Benefit Shop located at 2260 7th Avenue Sunday night. Donated watches, jewelry and other valuable items were among the items taken.

The Benefit Shop raises money to support services and programs like the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.

“As the Benefit Shop represents a significant source of program support for the Shelter, the County is asking members of the public to consider a tax-deductible donation to support Shelter services.”

The Benefit Shop accepts donations Thursday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
