Two men arrested on gun and gang charges in Watsonville

Two men were arrested on gun charges after a routine traffic stop.

Watsonville Police say Saturday morning Officers pulled over a vehicle in the 900 block of San Juan Road for a code violation.

While Officers began removing the occupants out of the vehicle, one of the passengers discarded a concealed loaded firearm and an additional loaded high capacity magazine.

A search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana and additional ammunition.

27-year-old Eduardo Montes and 25-year-old Angel Sanchez were arrested for: Carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, Large Capacity Magazine and Participation in a Criminal Street Gang.

Both were booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
