Robbers crash near strawberry field in Salinas

Two people are behind bars after Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies found them with a car full of stolen property.

27-year-old Luis Lozano and 22-year-old Patricia Nason face multiple charges including vandalism, trespassing, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

It happened just after 11 a.m. Thursday when deputies were called out to a robbery in progress. They found a car which had been driven into a fence on Natividad road.

A witness alerted them to Lozano and Nason who were running away through a strawberry field. Deputies caught up with them, searched the car and found items stolen from the witness the day before.

Both Lozano and Nason were booked into Monterey County Jail.
