Greenfield man threatens kidnap victim not to testify

A Greenfield man was arrested for threatening a kidnap victim to keep him from testifying.

The victim told investigators of the Major Crimes Unit he was kidnapped, robbed at gunpoint and beaten back in March.

Investigators identified 20-year-old Tania Ortiz as one of the suspects involved in the incident. Ortiz was arrested on April 19 and is currently at the Monterey County Jail on kidnapping and robbery charges.

The suspect threatening the victim was later identified as 34-year-old Jose Rojas. He was arrested Tuesday in Soledad and booked in the Monterey County Jail.

The Major Crimes Investigations Unit is a collaboration of the Greenfield and King City Police Department.
