Santa Cruz armed bank robbery suspect identified

Santa Cruz Police have identified a suspect wanted for an armed bank robbery in January.

Santa Cruz Police said the suspect, 48-year-old Randall Young, is already in custody at the San Mateo County Jail on different charges. Young will now be brought to Santa Cruz County.

Investigators got a warrant for Young for on April 4th charging him with Robbery, Kidnapping and other charges surrounding prior felony convictions.

Young is a former resident of Santa Cruz County.

According to police, Young robbed the US Bank at 110 Morrisey Boulevard in Santa Cruz on January 10, 2018.

During the investigation, officers learned Young showed a firearm and demanded money from bank tellers. During the robbery, the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
