Killer whales feed on gray whale calf in Monterey Bay

About 20 Orcas were spotted feeding on a gray whale calf in the Monterey Bay.

Monterey Bay Whale Watch captured video of the Orcas taking turns feeding on the calf they killed Thursday morning.

“One whale provides a lot of food for many Killer Whales and is an important food source during the spring,” Monterey Bay Whale Watch said.

Marine experts said this was the first predation event of the season. The killer whales are not in the Monterey Bay every day but frequent the area during the spring.
