Driver arrested after chase through Salinas

Salinas Police arrested the man behind a roughly 30-minute chase through Salinas, Sunday night.

Richard Flores, 23, was reportedly brandishing a firearm at Natividad Creek Park. They located the suspect’s vehicle, and attempted to pull Flores over, but he sped away.

The chase went through North, Central, and East Salinas, ending after 8 p.m. on Mohar St. where he was arrested. Police found 9 mm handgun along with a capacity magazine in his vehicle.

There were no injuries.

Police say the suspect is expected to be charged with several felonies.
