Arrests after shots fired in Las Palmas area overnight

Monterey County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men in the Las Palmas/Indian Springs area on Friday night.

Pablo Perez and Ronaldo Lopez-Hernandez have been arrested for weapons-related charges.

Deputies received multiple reports of shots being fired in the river. When they arrived, there were still shots being fired and several of them went over the deputies.

They stopped a car coming out of the river and detained Perez and Lopez-Hernandez and the 2 women with them. In the car, they found a large-caliber semiautomatic assault rifle without a serial number, loaded 40-round and 10-round magazines and open containers.

Perez and Lopez-Hernandez were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
