Man barricades himself inside Watsonville home

A mentally ill man has barricaded himself inside a Watsonville home.

According to police, the suspect got into an argument with a family member and a family member was hurt Monday night.

Police are asking the public to stay out the area of Maranatha and Green Valley Roads.

Officers are negotiating with the man. Detectives are also working on warrants for the suspect and location.

The victim is safe. No word on the extent of the injuries. Police believe the suspect is the only person inside the home.
