UPDATE: Santa Cruz County man arrested for shooting in Boulder Creek

UPDATE 3/2/18 9:19 p.m.: A Santa Cruz County man has been arrested for a shooting in Boulder Creek.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said 32-year-old James Campos got into an argument with the victim over vandalism.

Campos shot the victim at least once, hitting him in the leg.

Campos was found at a home in Brookdale and was taken into custody.

PREVIOUS STORY:

An argument led to a shooting in Boulder Creek early Friday morning.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place near Bear Creek Canyon Road and Bear Creek Road.

A 42-year-old man was shot in the leg. Detectives are currently following up on leads to identify the suspect.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No suspects are in custody.
