UC Berkeley student arrested, campus-wide shelter in place lifted
Berkeley, Calif. (KION-TV) UPDATE APRIL 21, 2022 at 5:05 p.m.-- A UC Berkeley student has been detained after allegedly making threats that forced a campus-wide shelter in place, according to KTVU.
KTVU added that the student was placed on interim suspension but it is unknown why they were on suspension.
The student was taken for a psychiatric evaluation but is still the subject of an arrest warrant.

They are advising people to leave campus in a safe and orderly way but buildings will remain locked.
Classes will remain canceled for the day.

UC Berkeley Police are asking students to shelter in place due to a credible campus-wide threat.
UC Berkeley police said there is no active shooter and they are looking for a person who may want to harm specific individuals.
UC Berkeley police said campus facilities and services are locking down.
All in-person classes have been canceled Thursday.
A UC Berkeley professor said the Dean of RCNR said there is an "emerging active shooter threat situation."
They also advise people to get away from doors and windows.
If you are not on campus stay away from the area, said police.
