Police: Salinas teen threatens to “shoot a school,” air-soft guns confiscated
A Salinas teen made a threatening post to shoot at a school on Thursday.
According to police, a 13-year-old boy posted a picture of his guns on Snapchat with a message that said, “About to shoot a school.”
Salinas Police traced the post to a phone registered to a Salinas resident.
When officers confronted the teen he said he had taken the post down after receiving a negative response. The guns turned out to be airsoft rifles.
The boy’s mother was completely cooperative and police confiscated the airsoft rifles.
