Update: Hollister dog abused on Snapchat makes recovery
UPDATE: 2/9/2018 5:10 p.m. Earlier this month a teen was arrested after a Snapchat video showed him throwing his dog nearly 10 feet across the ground.
The Hollister Police Animal Care & Services took the abused dog named Bella into their care and said she is doing much better.
“Every day Bella gains more and more confidence and spunk,” said Hollister Police.
In the photo below you can see Bella frolicking in the grass.
“She spends a lot of her day with staff, learning basic training and making up for lost cuddles.”

A Hollister teenager was arrested after animal service officers obtained video showing the teen throw a dog across the ground.
The 15-year-old was caught after Sunnyvale Animal Control received a Snapchat video showing the suspect pose with a toy breed dog in his arms before throwing the dog.
“The video appeared to show the dog land 7-10 feet in front of him,” said Hollister Police.
During further investigation, Hollister Animal Care and Services Officers discovered that this wasn’t the first time the teen abused the dog. Sunnyvale Animal Control also had information on a previous incident where the suspect allegedly kicked the small dog sending it several feet away.
On Thursday, Feb. 1, Animal Control Officers went to the teens home and took the dog in the video named “Bella.”
The 15-year-old was taken into custody on Feb. 3 and booked into San Benito County Juvenile Hall on charges of Felony Animal Cruelty.
Officials said Bella will be at the Hollister Animal Shelter throughout the remainder of the investigation.
