Two shootings in Santa Cruz on Saturday

Santa Cruz police confirm with KION there were two shootings in the city on Saturday.

Before 8 p.m. police responded to the 300 block of La Fonda. They learned one person was shot multiple times and transported by a family member to Dominican Hospital. The 25 year old Santa Cruz resident is in critical condition, and moved to a trauma center in the Bay Area. Police are still searching for a suspect, and do not know if this is gang related.

At around 2 p.m. Saturday, police responded to Branciforte and Soquel for a shooting. One car was hit, but no people were injured. There has been no arrested in this incident.
