Calling all huggers – Salinas shelter in need of volunteers
The Salinas Animal Shelter is in need of huggers, could that be you? If so, then you’ll want to be at a volunteer orientation Saturday morning.
Salinas Animal Services is holding the first volunteer orientation of 20-18 tomorrow. They’re always in need of more help. Volunteers are important in keeping the animals spirits up, which in turn, keeps them healthy longer. At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday they’ll explain what volunteer opportunities are available at the shelter.
“Our volunteers play a huge part in the shelter team. They do everything from feeding dogs and cats, to playing with them, taking the dogs on walks as well as releasing feral cats back into the community once they’ve been spayed or neutered,” said Salinas Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator, Jessica Jeffrey.
All volunteers need to be at least 16 years old. Jessica said they’re looking for those who are dedicated and really want to make a difference in the lives of animals.
The volunteer orientation is Saturday morning at 10:00 AM for anyone who would like to give back. The shelter is located on 144 Hitchcock Road in Salinas.
