Greenfield man arrested for Christmas Day shooting

UPDATE: 1/11/2018 10:50 a.m. Police have arrested the suspect involved in a Christmas day shooting that left one woman wounded in Greenfield.

According to the South County Major Crimes Investigations Unit, the shooting took place in the 200 block of Fourth Street when suspect, 34-year-old Aaron Aguilar of Greenfield shot at a woman washing her car. The victim was struck once in the lower back. Police said Aguilar took off running.

Police arrived and found the victim seated on the sidewalk. The victim was taken to a local trauma center, where she was in stable condition.

“Through tips from the public and other evidence the investigators developed suspect information which led to the suspect’s identity,” said Investigators.

Greenfield Police arrested Aguilar on Wednesday, January 10. Aguilar was booked into Monterey County Jail.

The victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering.

A woman is recovering after being shot on Christmas Day in Greenfield.

According to police, it happened on El Camino Real at 8:10 p.m. Monday.

Police said the woman suffered one gunshot to her back torso. She was taken to a local trauma center where she is in stable condition.
