Burglary suspect caught breaking into Pacific Grove hardware store

With the help of an alert citizen, Pacific Grove Police caught a burglary suspect in the act.

The burglary took place at the Fairway Shopping Center where a man was spotted breaking into Ace Hardware. The alert neighbor called police around 4 a.m. Tuesday and gave police a play by play of what the suspect was doing.

“When the suspect, Marcus Swingle a 29 year old male of out Salinas, climbed out of the window with items from the store, officers were waiting to greet him,” said Pacific Grove Police.

Swingle was arrested and taken to Monterey County Jail on charges of burglary and warrants.

“This is a great example of see something, say something,” said PGPD.
