Scattered power outages reported Tuesday

Thousands of people are without power, as PG&E investigates an outage in North Salinas and Prunedale.

According to the utility’s website, the outage hit at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday and initiallly affected 3,694 customers in the North Salinas, Bolsa Knolls, and Prunedale areas. By 7:52 a.m., 1,110 customers remained without power.

The cause is under investigation and there is no estimated time for full restoration of power.

Crews are also on the scene of a second outage caused by a downed power line.

PG&E reports 400 customers in the Zayante and Lompico areas of Santa Cruz County are without power. It expects to have power restored by noon today.
