Curbside pickup in Salinas for old Christmas trees begins Tuesday

Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority will begin curbside pickups in Salinas on Tuesday or you can always drop it off for free at the transfer station or landfill located in Gonzales, King City or Salinas.

“We just need it to have no decorations, no tinsel, no lights. And it can’t be flocked. Flocking is the fake snow. Because those mess up the composting process,”said Jenny Mitchell.

If you bring in your tree for recycling, you can get a coupon for some free compost from Vision Recycling. They chip it up and make compost out of them.
