Salinas police search for two suspected bank robbers
Salinas Police are investigating a Friday bank robbery.
Just before noon, the two masked suspects, armed with semi automatic handguns, entered the Rabobank on North Davis. One of them jumped the counter, emptying desk drawer into a green military-style duffel bag. The other suspect held the employees at gunpoint.
Both suspects fled in a silver Mercedes with orange paper plates, and drove to the south-side of Costco. They left the car, entering an early 2000s red Honda 4-door, driving towards Costco.
Police said the Mercedes was reported stolen from a Salinas Walmart on Thursday.
The first suspect is described as short, around 5’8” tall, possibly Filipino, with four dots under his left eye. The second suspect is around 6’3” tall.
Salinas police said the FBI responded to the bank robbery. You are asked to call police if you have any information.
