Santa Cruz Police recover stolen Christmas gifts

With Christmas just days away, Santa Cruz Police were able to nab a couple of grinches with stolen presents.

On December 9, around 11:25 p.m. officers responded to a report of a male and female prowling the 300 block of Pelton Avenue.

SCPD officers found 23-year-old Ryvera Knutson of Brookdale and 39-year-old Santa Cruz resident, Dorin Lyngstad sitting on a curb near the 100 block of Phelan Court.

The suspects had multiple bags of various items on the sidewalk including three fur jackets by Urban Republic.

When asked what they were doing, the suspects told police they were just looking for a power outlet in the backyard to charge a phone.

Knutson and Lyngstad were arrested for prowling.

Santa Cruz Police would like to get the gifts back to the rightful owner in time to wrap and put under the tree. If you recognize the jacket contact Detective Pendleton at 831-420-5832.
