Three suspects busted in stolen truck at Soquel Storage Mart
Three suspects are behind bars after a deputy spotted the trio inside a storage facility with a stolen truck.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a flatbed truck pull into the Storage Mart parking lot on Soquel Drive, and decided to follow the vehicle due to the uptick in burglaries at storage units.
Once inside, the deputy discovered the truck had been reported stolen. The deputy found Joaquin Romero, Zachary Nash, and Ashley Rodgers inside the stolen vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office said Romero was already on probation for burglary and was arrested Wednesday night (Dec 20) for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Nash was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Rodgers had an active felony warrant for her arrest and was also in possession of a controlled substance.
“The trio did not have any affiliation with the storage facility,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Within the past 12 months, there has been 43 reports of burglary at storage locker facilities within the unincorporated county.
The Sheriff’s Office advises people to look for a safe storage space and to research the website for security features.
Anyone with information related to any of the burglaries is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 831-454-7631.
