Greenfield man arrested again after another domestic violence incident involving baby
Once again, a Greenfield man has been arrested and faces child endangerment charges after another domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
According to Greenfield Police, on Tuesday (11/21) around 11 a.m. officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of 10th Street. Police said the alleged victim, said her boyfriend, 26-year-old Manuel Salazar Soto of Greenfield was verbally abusive to her after she had finished breastfeeding their infant child.
Soto allegedly snatched his baby from his girlfriends arms, and then grabbed her by her neck using his free hand to push her down.
“The victim attempted to leave the residence to contact the police. Soto was still holding onto their infant child, prevented the victim from exiting the residence by physically obstructing the door opening using his foot,” said Greenfield Police.
Soto was arrested for Domestic Violence, Child Endangerment, False Imprisonment, Violation of Probation and Violation of a Protective Order.
Soto was booked into the Monterey County Jail. The infant was safely reunited with his mother.
This is not the Soto’s first run in with the law. Back in October he was arrested after using his 1-year-old baby as a shield from police.
