Man arrested after walking into a Santa Cruz school with machete
A man has been arrested after walking into a Santa Cruz high school armed with a machete.
Santa Cruz Police Chief Andy Mills told KION around 11 a.m. Tuesday, 27-year-old Milton Miller walked into Natural Bridges High School carrying a 13 inch machete on his back. He did not interact with any students.
School staff saw Miller and asked him to leave. Soon after he was arrested nearby.
SCPD said this is not Millers first run in with the law. On September 20, police found Miller armed with a knife in the downtown area. The 27-year-old resisted arrest and officers tased and cuffed him.
He was arrested for outstanding warrants, carrying a concealed dagger, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Chief Mills commended the Department and school staff for their efforts in keeping the school safe.
