Santa Cruz Police arrest suspected drug dealer

A suspected drug dealer in possession of methamphetamine and heroin is now off Santa Cruz streets.

Around 10:45 p.m. Saturday(11/11), Officers with the Santa Cruz Police Department’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team contacted the suspect, 35-year-old Eric Calisto of Truckee, using methamphetamine inside his car parked in the 800 block of Water Street.

As officers approached the car, Calisto tried to hide the drugs in his hands.

Calisto was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and officers later discovered he was also on probation in Alameda County.

While searching Calisto’s car, SCPD Officers found more than 60 grams of methamphetamine and more than 15 grams of heroin packaged for sale.

Eric Calisto was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on felony drug sale charges.
