Royal Oaks man sentenced to 4 years in prison for tasing daughter-in-law

A Royal Oaks man has been sentenced to four years in prison following a conviction of felony assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a stun gun and misdemeanor Child Abuse.

On June 2nd, Brooke and Shaun Wilcox returned to a home in Royal Oaks to remove property from a guest house they had leased from Shaun’s father, 56-year-old Curt Street Wilcox.

Officials said over several years, Curt had harassed his daughter-in-law and son into vacating the guest house they had remodeled at their own expense.

While Shaun was inside, Brooke stayed near their vehicle with their 10-year-old and 4-year-old daughters.

Official said this is when Curt began to stand near Brooke Wilcox with a stun gun. He began trying to interact with Brooke’s daughter, causing Brooke to tell Curt to leave her alone.

Curt then attacked Brooke with the stun gun, electrocuting her in the face, chest, groin and back multiple times.

Brooke’s 10-year-old daughter ran to get help from Shaun and when he ran outside, he found his father struggling with his wife and actively trying to electrocute her. Shaun tackled Curt and forcibly removed the stun gun, which had segments of Brooke’s hair tangled in its probes.

Wilcox received the maximum sentence of 4 years in state prison.
