TRAFFIC ALERT: Overturned vehicle, downed wires, & fire shuts down Hwy 129 near Watsonville

Highway 129 is shut down in both lanes due to an overturned vehicle, downed power lines and a fire.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a solo vehicle accident occurred around 4:35 a.m. Friday. A big rig driver pulled over to help but hit a power line in the process, which then started a fire.

The accident happened near Murphy Crossing and Rogge Lane near Watsonville. All lanes in the area are closed but crews are trying to get it back open by 9:45 a.m.

PG&E is on scene. No word on the extent of the drivers injuries at this time.
