SWAT responds to possible burglary at Outdoor World in Santa Cruz
UPDATE: 10/19/2017 10:16 a.m. According to Santa Cruz Police, the scene at Outdoor World is secure.
No suspect(s) were found. Santa Cruz Police Chief Andrew Mills told KION they do not believe any guns were taken from the store as all the guns were locked up in a safe.
The store on River Street was broken into Thursday morning around 7:20 a.m. SWAT was initially brought on scene because the store sells guns.
Officers are still on scene going over evidence.
Chief Mills said there is a lot of evidence they have to go through and the case is an ongoing investigation.

Santa Cruz SWAT is stationed outside Outdoor World in Santa Cruz after the store was burglarized Thursday morning.
According to Santa Cruz Police, officers have the business on River Street surrounded while teams of officers search the building for suspect(s). Police said a Bearcat was deployed because the store does have guns inside.
The store was closed at the time of the burglary and there are no injuries reported.
The department said they do have access to Outdoor World’s surveillance cameras and hope to use them to catch the suspects.
The public is advised to stay away while officers search for the suspect(s).
