3 arrested after Shot Spotter is activated in Salinas
Salinas police arrested three men after ShotSpotter was activated near Acosta Plaza Sunday night.
The shots were detected in the 900 block of Acosta Plaza just before 8 p.m.
Officers saw a car speeding away from the scene.
They attempted a traffic stop but the driver did not comply.
The vehicle later crashed near Del Monte Avenue and Williams Road.
All three passengers tried to get away on foot.
Jonathan Ventura, 22, was driving the car and was arrested after jumping several fences.

Alexander Bautista, 19, dropped a 12 gauge shotgun when he got out of the car. He was arrested a short distance from the crash.

the owner of the car, Jose Cerna, 18, got away on foot but several witnesses were able to describe him. Cerna then tried to report his car as stolen and was arrested for filing a false report.

All three men were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
A victim of the shooting was located. He was shot at but not wounded.
The incident is being investigated as gang related.
