Highway 101 paving begins Monday

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday drivers should expect paving in the right, northbound lane near Sherwood in Salinas. Caltrans says it’s important to get this maintenance done now, while the weather is good. The northbound work is expected to last until 3:00 p.m. today.

“We do the pothole repair and patching up to try and have a less challenging winter. We can’t help what Mother Nature brings, but we can do proactive and preventative work,” said Caltrans Susana Cruz.

On Tuesday, they’ll begin paving the southbound number two lane of US Highway 101 near John Street. Delays are expected around 15 minutes.
