Monterey deputies make traffic stop that ends in arrest

A traffic violation turned into a drug arrest in the Addington Lane and Boronda area in Salinas just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies say there was a backpack under the passenger with 4.5 ounces of marijuana and an ounce of cocaine, both packed for sale, along with thousands of dollars in cash.

That’s when deputies arrested Rudy Perez, 24. He was charged with possession of controlled substances for sales.
