Crash closes street in Gilroy
GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) UPDATE: February 21 11:07 p.m. Monterey Road between Welburn Avenue and Pierce Street reopened after closing temporarily following a vehicle and a motorcycle collision, according to Gilroy Police.
Authorities said the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local trauma center. Police said he is expected to survive.
Police added the driver of the other vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Gilroy Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and is conducting an investigation. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
