Intruder breaks into Live Oak home, teens inside

A man broke into a home in Live Oak but was confronted by a group of teenagers inside.

The burglary took place in the 100 block of Moran Way Thursday afternoon.

The teenagers told the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office they heard noises in the kitchen. When the teens checked on the noise they came face to face with suspect, Oneill Wood. Wood ran from the home with a stolen backpack.

Sergeant Leonetti was nearby and located the suspect in the Moran Beach parking lot. Wood was identified as the intruder through eyewitness accounts and neighbors home surveillance systems.
Woods was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
