Arizona: Abandoned newborn found in backpack
CNN- A baby girl who was abandoned in a parking lot is currently in police custody while authorities search for her parents.
The child was found abandoned in the parking lot of a grocery store in Tempe, Arizona on June 4. She had been left inside of a black and pink backpack adorned with a picture of the Jonas Brothers, a popular boy band from the 2000s.
The baby was estimated to have been born just an hour prior to being discovered.
She is believed to be African-American and weighs seven pounds.
Authorities say that the baby is doing well.
Anyone who has information regarding the girls’ identity and the identity of her parents is encouraged to contact authorities.
