Santa Cruz County urges earthquake preparedness

Friday is the 65th anniversary of the 1952 Kern County earthquake.

The quake that hit Southern California decades ago was a recorded magnitude of 7.5.

Santa Cruz County officials said the destructive earthquake is a reminder to be prepared in case another one strikes.

First responders said people should have a plan and a disaster kit.
