Monterey County Sheriffs bust suspected serial car thief
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man they believe is responsible for several car thefts along the Carmel and Pacific Grove coastlines.
With the help of Carmel Police, the sheriff’s office said the investigation led them to suspect Jaimie Dyer’s house in Greenfield. Deputies conducted a search of the house Thursday and property was located from at least 10 different thefts.
Investigators found 1.25 pounds of marijuana along with a stolen handgun.
Dyers was housed in the Monterey County Jail.
Deputies said most of the thefts involved unlocked cars. Law enforcement agencies want to remind the public to lock car doors and do not leave anything of value in them.
